Soft enough to sell
The print goes into the fabric rather than sitting on top of it, so the shirt still feels like a shirt. That matters when you are selling it over a counter rather than handing it to staff. No setup fee either, so small runs make sense.
SCREEN PRINTING
For club and event runs
Surf club carnivals, gym challenges, school events. Heavy ink that holds up to being washed constantly, and the price per shirt drops sharply once you are ordering by the dozen.
DTF
For rashies, caps and mixed gear
Polyester and technical fabrics will not take a standard print. DTF grips them properly, which is what you want when the order is not all cotton tees.

Our eastern work tends to be cafes and studios around Bondi and Paddington, gyms and clubs through Randwick and Coogee, and small labels doing short runs they do not want to commit thousands of dollars to. Questions from the east
Will the print survive salt water and constant washing?+
Screen printing is the most durable, which is why club and event gear tends to go that way. DTG holds up well through normal washing but softens over time, and for a retail tee that is usually the point. If the garment is going in the surf every weekend, say so and we will steer you to the method that lasts.
We are a cafe or a gym after a small batch of staff tees. Is that too small?+
Not at all. There is no minimum, so a dozen is a normal order here and so is one. DTG carries no setup fee, so a small run is not penalised the way it is with screen printing.
I am a small label testing a design. What does that look like?+
Print a handful on DTG first, see whether they sell, then move to screen printing once the numbers justify it. We keep the artwork on file so the bigger run matches the test. No minimum either way.
How long does it take?+
Standard turnaround is up to two weeks. Express is within a week and adds $2.50 a garment on selected products. We courier across the bridge, or pickup from Artarmon is free if you are heading that way anyway.
Can you print onto garments we already have?+
Yes. BYO printing is $15 one-off art setup per design, then $12 a print. Cotton and cotton rich fabrics take it best. If you are unsure about a particular garment, bring one in first and we will tell you straight before you buy a hundred of them.
